With the end of 2016 just a few days away, here are just a few of the many ways you can kiss the year goodbye and ring in 2017 across Croatia.
Zagreb: The largest New Year's Eve event this year, Zagreb is hosting the very first Croatia Winter Music Festival which will be held in the Zagreb Arena from 31.12.2016. to 01.06.2017. With an evening music program that puts Zagreb on the map as a European EDM metropolis, the festival also brings a series of daily events and an international gaming tournament. The program begins on New Year's Eve with the unrivaled Zagreb 360 New Year's Eve party with #4 DJ in the world - Armin van Buuren.
Osijek: In addition to the “Christmas Village” where you can find a range of local products and souvenirs, hot stews, a plethora of sausages and cured meats, and famous Osijek desserts such as their cream pies, this New Year’s Eve you can enjoy one of Croatia's favorite bands Elemental in the Square of the Holy Trinity, and local band Vigor in the main square.
Rijeka: Rijeka is ringing in the New Year on the popular promenade Korzo with one of Croatia’s most popular artists Gibonni, known most recently for his musical collaborations with yet another famous Croatian music legend Oliver Dragojevic. En Face, Irish folk ensemble from Rijeka Belfast Food, Izet and Borgie will also take the stage.
Opatija: A musical celebration at the Opatija Music Hall will take form with Mauro Staraj & La Banda, with the main attraction being famous frontman of Davoli - Neno Belan & Fiumens.
Pula: You can kiss 2016 goodbye at the Forum Square in Pula where Croatian punk band from Zagreb Hladno pivo & The Night Express Band will take the stage. Concert begins from 20.00.
Zadar: In Zadar, this New Year’s Eve party is complete with Zagreb pop singer Ivan Zak and one of Croatia’s most well known ensembles - Tomislav Bralic & Klapa Intrade. The concert will take place in Zadar’s “People’s Square” from 22.00.
Sibenik: Sibenik welcomes Croatian pop singer from Pula Massimo Savić and his band to bring on 2017. The event will be held in the area of Dolac.
Split: For one of the most entertaining nights of the year, the famous Split waterfront will be taken over by Petar Grašo and Croatian pop rock band Buđenje.
Hvar: Who says the islands aren’t any fun in the winter? To close out 2016, the island of Hvar is boasting a massive New Year’s event with one of the top rock ‘n roll bands in Croatia, Parni Valjak.
Dubrovnik: And finally, we make our way down to Dubrovnik, where DJ Kameni, Doris Dragović, and Jole will light up the new year on Stradun. In Lapad, you can also catch the New Year’s Eve Humanitarian event with Klapa Kaše, Feredon, Atlantida and many more.
