After the fierce bura wind brought ice to Dalmatia's Adriatic waterfront on January 8, 2017, the icy calm after the storm in Makarska.
There was no doubting the story of the day in terms of readership on TCN yesterday.
No, it wasn't the wide-ranging interview with controversial Zivi Zid politician Ivan Pernar, 4 Croatian beaches in The Sunday Times top 50 for Europe, or a jewel of a find in a 1969 travel documentary on Hvar.
For while we Brits are often told we are obsessed with the weather, my experience is that Dalmatians are even more so. When the sun shines, as it normally does, we hear a lot about it. When it rains, that is also a topic of discussion, but when ice comes to the shores of the Adriatic and are expertly filmed by TCN's Vice Rudan, THAT is the story of the day.
Makarska was calmer today, but still a little chilly, and Vice was out again, capturing a snapshot of this very unusual weather, as others flocked to see snow at the lighthouse. Some great video footage below.
