Some welcome news for Zagreb's commuters.
ZET (Zagreb Electric Tram) have announced that from the 1st of February 2017, prices will drop by over 50% for shorter tram journeys. ''Half hour'' tickets on ZET buses and trams will be available for a mere 4 kuna as opposed to 10 kuna.
Zagreb's mayor, Milan Bandic, stated on Radio Slijeme that those who ride for thirty minutes will only be expected to pay 4 kuna, but those who ride for 90 will pay 10. He says that if reactions from the media deliver a positive response and people are happy with the new system, then it will come into effect as of the 1st of February of this year. He claims that the attractive low fare prices are not a pre-election sweetener.
