Episodes of the television series The Terror, a paranormal thriller inspired by the mysterious disappearance of a royal expedition sent to explore the northwest passage across the Arctic, will be filmed in April on Pag Island, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) has announced, as reported by Zadarski List on April 4, 2017.
The show is based on an adaptation of the same-name novel by Dan Simmons, presenting a naval expedition from 1847 led by Captain John Franklin (Ciaran Hinds) and his assistant Francis Crozier (Jared Harris), who are stuck in ice for two years. The ship is attacked by a mysterious predator which stalks the crew and forces it into an uncertain and desperate survival game.
Screenplay writers and creative producers of the show are David Kajganich and Soo Hugh. Executive producers are Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady.
Filming began on Pag on April 3, to last until April 29. The set will see 85 Croatian film workers and 60 local extras.
