Portuguese representative Salvador Sobral was named winner of the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
While Croatia may not have won the Eurovision Song Contest this year, Croatian representative Jacques Houdek won the hearts of viewers around the world with another brilliant performance in the Eurosong final.
Houdek finished 13th in the final of the competition which was held last night in Kiev. A stellar performance of the song "My Friend" awarded the Croat 13th place in the final evening of Eurosong.
“People, what to say, thank you to everyone. I can't believe this happened, I'm overjoyed, I cried from overwhelming emotions,” said Jacques after the performance.
Portuguese representative Salvador Sobral was named winner of the 62nd edition of Eurovision Song Contest. The song "Amar Pelos Dios" earned him a total of 758 points. In second place was Bulgarian representative Kristian Kostov with the song "Beautiful Mess" which amassed 615 points, and in third was the Moldovan Sunstroke Project with the song "Hey Mamma”.
Croatian representative Jacques Houdek finished in 13th with 128 points, but with votes from the audience Houdek placed in ninth.
