The photo exhibition entitled ‘Kukljica-panoramas’ by Tihomir Gržinčić will be held from September 28 to October 15, 2017, in Zadar City Library.
In addition to international photo exhibition titled 'Island and the Sea’, the City Library in Zadar will house another lovely exhibition of photographs done by Tihomir Gržinić who focused his lens on the island of Kukljica, reports eZadar on October 2, 2017. Both exhibitions will be opened by October 15.
"Kukljica is known as the tourist centre of the Zadar archipelago. At the height of the summer tourist season, more than thousand boats can be seen anchored in nearby coves, most of which are sandy, and more than five thousand tourists can be seen bathing and enjoying themselves on beautiful nearby beaches. In the evening hours, the local promenades are bustling with thousands of visitors.
Tihomir Gržinčić tried to avoid the crowds of tourists and show an idyllic atmosphere of the island. The tourist life of the island is only hinted in his photographs. The exhibition features panoramic shots which capture the island skyline and vast Adriatic sea in all of its glory. The second part of the photo exhibition features boats sailing or anchored in hidden coves, while the third part mostly consists of panoramas of Kukljica and its surrounding island vegetation," said Ante Jaša, the exhibition selector at the opening of the exhibition.
Tihomir Gržinčić is a professor of geography who works in Zagreb. However, his parents are from Kukljica, where he often resides during the year. He started doing photography since he was a schoolboy. He is a member of the photography group 'Island photographers of Zadar County'. Tihomir Gržinčić participated in dozens of online photo competitions and at several international exhibitions. His photos were published online, in newspapers and books. He has received several awards for his photographic work.
