The competition was held in Great Britain under BJCP rules, where amateur beer makers can submit up to four beers created on hobby equipment
The successes of Croatian homebrewers continue. After 12 medals in Slovenia, the newest two are coming from a land with a long beer tradition. The Brew Con, a competition similar to the Croatian Homebrew Championship, the beers of two Croatian homebrewers won medals while competing against 254 submitted beers. Silvije Boroša won gold in the English Strong category, while Goran Šostarec took silver in the Belgian Strong category, Večernji List reported on November 16, 2017.
Brew Con is the first fair and conference completely devoted to beer and homebrewing organised by the Beer Boars homebrewing association. Amateur beer makers can submit up to four beers made on hobby equipment. The rating included 123 judges, stewards and other staff. This year it took place in London’s The Mermaid pub, with every general category sponsored with valuable prizes.
This may well be the best success of Croatian homebrewers as this is the largest such competition in Great Britain, at least according to Brew Con.
