Croatian Nautical Offer Sparks Major Interest at Boot Düsseldorf 2018

By 25 January 2018

The German market generates the largest part of the tourist traffic in the Croatian nautical sector

The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) is currently representing Croatia at the major nautical fair boot Düsseldorf that is taking place from January 20 to 28, reports Morski.hr on January 25, 2018.

HTZ director Kristjan Staničić visited the fair to meet with representatives of the German association of yachtsmen, as well as with influential representatives of the German media specialising in the nautical sector. Both parties were presented with detailed explanation of the latest increase in sojourn fees in Croatia in 2018.

Director Staničić talked about the significance of the nautical sector in relation to the entire tourist offer in Croatia. "Our presence at 'boot Düsseldorf' makes for an excellent opportunity to improve the position of the Croatian nautical offer on this market, which we consider very important. In 2017, nautical charter in Croatia generated more than 470.000 arrivals and more than 3 million overnight stays, making for an increase of 15 percent in both cases. It was the German market which generated the largest tourist traffic in this segment, namely 76.000 arrivals and 569.000 overnights, also making for a 15 percent increase compared to 2016. This year, we're expecting further development of the positive trends recorded on the German market thus far, as well as better positioning of Croatia as an attractive nautical destination", said Staničić.

In collaboration with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and ACI, the HTZ organised a business meeting and invited their partners to try out the Croatian eno-gastro offer on display. Apart from the HTZ as the main exhibitor, five other parties from Croatia are presenting their services at the Düsseldorf fair: Angelina Yachtcharter, Burin Yacht Charter, Croatia Yachting, Marina Muroskva and The Yachting Club.
