A unique opportunity, and it is not even too expensive (for a castle).
If you have always wanted to live in a castle, now the dream can become a reality, reports Index.hr on February 6, 2018.
The Gjalski Castle, a mansion with over 1,700 square metres of area, has been listed for 1,750,000 euros. The magnificent castle is the birthplace of the famous Croatian writer from the turn from the 19th to the 20th century, Ksaver Šandor Gjalski. The castle is named after his family.
The Gjalski Castle is located in Gredice Zabočke, in the centre of the Hrvatsko Zagorje region, and not far from the motorway which leads to Zagreb. The capital is just a 20-minute drive away from this truly unique property.
The castle is located on a 23,000 square metre plot and consists of 20 rooms. It is currently used as a restaurant and a hotel. On the ground floor and the basement of the castle, there is a restaurant with several halls and the capacity for 200 guests, in addition to an open area that can accommodate further 150 guests and offers beautiful views of the Medvednica mountain.
On the first floor, there is a red salon equipped for holding conferences and similar events, which can accommodate up to 60 people. It is important to note that all the halls are air-conditioned and equipped with the superior sound system.
The hotel part offers 17 rooms and two suites, a meeting room and a restaurant for various events and festivities. Everything is subordinated to the business needs of the clients, from diverse dishes in the restaurant to up to three multi-purpose conference halls which contain all the necessary technical equipment and translation booths for two or three interpreters.
There is also a nightclub in the castle, which many citizens of Zagreb remember as one of their favourite place for parties in the 1990s.
