Vodice's new addition won't be here in time for the summer season...
As Morski writes on the 17th of February, 2018, the bids of the two tenderers who bidded in the City of Vodice's public tender for the second phase of the settlement of Vruje beach, a project worth four million kuna without VAT, were denied, according to a report from the local portal Šibenik.in.
Bidders Sarađen from Stankovci, and Kameni zid (Stone wall) from Drniš and Chrila from Split submitted their bids together within the legal deadline, with both ending up being ultimately rejected. The offer of the first bidder exceeded the planned or secured funds, while the second bid was not in accordance with the project's procurement documentation.
Owing to the rejection of the two aforementioned bids, the public tender will be repeated once again and the works on the project will be now be postponed until the autumn of this year.
''A new public tender comes with a decision on selection and 10 days of standby, while the deadlines for appeals expire. Unfortunately, while doing all of this, we'll arrive to Easter time and the deadline is too short to finish before the start of the main season, as was anticipated. That's why we're going to work on Vruje beach after summer,'' stated Deputy Mayor Stipe Bosotin.
Otherwise, the first phase of the doing up of the beach, worth nine million kuna, was entrusted to the Rijekaprojekt company by the City of Vodice.
Works by which the city managed to obtain a new kilometre and a half of sunbathing and swimming areas, with the added possibility of planning a variety of beach facilities, were completed last summer. The beach is designed in the way it is, so as to be evaluated by the Ministry of Tourism, which allocated 1 million kuna of grants from the Public Tourism Infrastructure Development Program for its renovation.
The new beach stretches from Mali Vruje, in front of the tourist complex of Villa Matilda, to the Tijat sailing club, and aside from the daily typical beach facilities that can be found, a variety of cultural and artistic events can be organised and take place during the evenings.
