Croatian Pavilion at Venice Biennale Opened

By 26 May 2018

ZAGREB, May 26, 2018 - The Croatian Pavilion was formally opened in Venice's Arsenal on Friday as part of the 16th Venice Biennale, an international architecture exhibition.

Croatia will be represented by an exhibition called "Cloud Pergola / The Architecture of Hospitality".

In her opening remarks, Assistant Culture Minister Iva Hraste Sočo said that the Croatian exhibition represented "a step into an area of experiment and technological development."

The exhibition is conceived as an interplay between three interventions: "Cloud Drawing" by Alisa Andrašek and Bruno Juričić, "To Still the Eye" by Vlatka Horvat and "Ephemeral Garden" by Maja Kuzmanović.

The exhibition's curator and chief architect Bruno Juričić said that this installation crosses the boundaries of architecture, art, robotics and computer programming, and should help raise awareness of the role of innovation and technology in architecture and art.

The Croatian exhibition will be on display throughout the duration of the Biennale, from May 26 to November 25.
