Just one day until the start of the first edition of the Krk Music Fest.
On the first day of the summer, June 21, the Krk Music Fest will begin in the town of Krk on the eponymous island. In addition to the excellent music, drama and dance programmes, the visitors of the festival held on the largest Croatian island will also be able to enjoy the interesting and rich gastronomic offer of the International Street Food Market, which will provide them with an opportunity to taste street food specialities from different parts of the world.
The Street Food Market will consist of eleven “Food Trucks”, one of which will be an original yellow American school-bus in which visitors will be able to taste famous American fast food prepared at a much higher level than usual. The Street Food Market will also offer high-quality burgers, wraps and burritos, as well as specialities from oriental cuisines. On offer will be, for example, pulled pork burgers, roast beef and truffles sandwiches prepared by the team from the Leon Street Food from Maribor, as well as street specialities from Haiti. Fans of desserts will be able to enjoy crepes with figs from La Creperie Mobile, as well as ice cream rolls and Dutch pancakes.
The festival will run until Saturday, 23rd June, and the biggest musical star of the first festival edition is certainly Josipa Lisac, who will perform on the second day of the festival, on Friday. The highlight of the last day will be The Frajle, while the festival will also feature Grapevine Babies, Sudar Percussion, dance performances by Ivona Brnelić’s RiS, and a spectacle performed by a laser harp master and the Vejanke female vocal group and Bona Forma.
The youngest visitors will certainly be interested in the musical bottles show and the educational performance “Story of Sound”, which will be presented in cooperation with the Mala Scena theatre from Zagreb. Teenagers and other interested guests will be able to try beatboxing and DJ training since the masters of these skills will organise free workshops.
The festival program also includes a rich programme dedicated to the cultural heritage, with local folklore ensembles such as KUD Vrh, KD Kornić and FD Poljica performing on all three festival days.
The organizers of the first edition of the Krk Music Fest are the largest Croatian tourist company Valamar Riviera, the Town of Krk and the Krk Tourist Board.
