Did you know that there is a gin considered to be the Mediterranean?
Do you know that one gin is considered to be the Mediterranean? The Vantguard company, whose portfolio includes 1724 Tonic Water, 22 Water, and Capucana, is also the proud producer of Gin Mare. Their Croatian distributor is the Acrobat company of Zagreb. For the recent Statehood Day celebrations, they organised an unforgettable gastronomy adventure for their long-time customers and media representatives – they presented their "Mediterranean" gin in its full glory.
The trip started at the Hramina Marina on the island of Murter, from where the party sailed on a catamaran. The pleasure was complete thanks to delicacies and cocktails prepared for the guests by young bartender Ivan Fabijančić. After an hour and a half of quiet and pleasant sailing, the group arrived at Konoba Žakan, an ideal place to relax in the exceptional beauty of the Kornati archipelago. The tavern is an indispensable venue for yachtsmen who combine their love for natural beauties with top gastronomic specialties prepared according to traditional Kornati recipes.
The guests enjoyed the menu which included as many as seven courses. The menu was: the Gin fizz oysters, tartar with tuna, shrimp and dentex, John Dory marinated in ginger and lime, shrimp in crumbs with marinated onions and pine nuts, lobster risotto with saffron, sea bass with puree made of fennel, Swiss chard and broad beans, and lemon tart and macaron lime and basil.
All the courses were accompanied by cocktails which paired perfectly with the food. Cocchi Fizz was paired with oysters, tartar with Mare Martini, shrimp with FrozeMary cocktail (mix of Mare Gin and legendary Whispering Angel rose wine) and various fruity batidas. Fruity batidas have become a global hit as a low calorie and healthy refreshment.
In Zagreb, the first presentation of low-calorie fruity batidas was held at the 50 A Burger And Champagne Bar, in collaboration with the brand ambassador Enzo Gomez. We are looking forward to the sequel.
