The amount includes just the LED bulbs bought at IKEA.

More than seven million customers have passed through IKEA’s department store in Rugvica near Zagreb. Among the best-selling products in Croatia are LED bulbs, which enable consumers to live a more sustainable life at home, reports Večernji List on August 24, 2018.

A total of 1.15 million LED bulbs have been sold by IKEA in Croatia, enabling buyers to save about 660 million kWh or almost 300 million kuna – it has been announced by IKEA Zagreb, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the company’s operations in Croatia.

The IKEA Family Loyalty Program has more than 260,000 members. During the four years of operations, 3,181 kilometres of receipts have been printed. Put together, they could connect Dubrovnik in the south of Croatia and Umea in the north of Sweden. The store has also sold 113,293 units of popular Lack tables, which would stacked one on top of other be higher than Dinara, the highest peak in Croatia. The 80,456 packages of Glimma candles sold could illuminate the motorway from Zagreb to Šibenik.

According to an independent study conducted by Moj Posao website, in the very first year of operations, IKEA was selected as the best employer among large Croatian companies. In the past two years, it was selected among the best three employers. IKEA delivery centres were opened in Rijeka in July 2017, in Split in September 2017, and in Osijek in June 2018.

Recently, the largest retail outlet complex in Croatia, Designer Outlet Croatia, was opened next to the IKEA department store. The Swedish furniture giant, along with its partners, will invest 88 million euro during the two phases of construction and open about 400 new jobs.
