Another award for Croatian designers and architects.
Croatian holiday homes have won awards in the three categories of the Best European Holiday Home (BEHH) competition, which has been organized for the fourth year in a row by the European Holiday Home Association, reports Poslovni.hr on October 12, 2018.
The title of the best vacation house located on the beach was won by Villa Palma in Naplovac on the island of Korčula. The best eco holiday home is Villa Milica in Šajini near Pula, while the award for the best pet holiday home went to the Green Frame house in Klarić near Vodnjan.
This year's competition was expanded to 14 categories. Out of 112 finalists from 21 countries, there were as many as 15 Croatian nominees.
“I am delighted that our beautiful houses have been again recognised for the quality of offer and design. The victory in these three categories shows how important the branding and the focus on a specific niche market are. That helps guests find accommodation units according to their needs, thus guaranteeing their satisfaction, which ultimately results in more guests arriving and renting these homes,” said Martina Nimac Kalcia, president of the Family Tourism Community of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), who received the awards on behalf of the winners from Croatia. She called on all the members of the Community to become actively engaged and nominate as many Croatian houses and holiday apartments as possible.
The event was attended by representatives of the largest European and US companies involved in family accommodation, such as Airbnb, HomeAway and Expedia, Novasol, Wyndham, Interhome, Belville, Kigo, and representatives of national associations of family accommodation providers.
The HGK became a member of the European Holiday Home Association in March 2017 and is actively involved in its work.
