The Dubrovnik Diving Club announces another praiseworthy action, putting the underwater environment first.
The threat of plastic waste polluting the world's seas and oceans is an ongoing on that has seen numerous laws come to pass with the aim of tackling the spiralling problem.
With numerous species insreasingly endangered by a total lack of human care when it comes to waste disposal, many organisations up and down the coast have taken it upon themselves to organise and partake in various beach and seabed clean up operations, and the Dubrovnik area undertakes many.
As Morski writes on the 13th of October, 2018, the latest such clean up operation in southern Dalmatia is set to take place on Sunday, October the 14th in Vrelo in Mali Zaton, just north of the City of Dubrovnik, as was recently announced by the Dubrovnik Diving Club. The club has extended open invitations to volunteers and locals to participate in the action that will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 that day. A light lunch is included for all those who partake.
This is otherwise far from the first announced clean up operation announced by the members of the Dubrovnik Diving Club, as their seabed clean up actions are organised regularly both before and after the main tourist season, and during their cleaning of the sea bed, they have been able to come across a great many ''interesting'' discoveries, some of which are extremely concerning, as is evidenced by the rich photo documentation posted after every action on their Facebook page.
