Polish Film Festival Starting in Zagreb

ZAGREB, October 14, 2018 - The first edition of the Wisla Festival of Polish Films will be held in Zagreb's Grič Cinema from 16 through 20 October, featuring ten recent productions.

The festival will open with Squadron 303 by director Denis Delić, who was born in Zagreb in 1966.

Squadron 303 is a story about a highly regarded Polish fighter squadron in the Royal Air Force that defended Britain in the Second World War.

Two films directed by Lukasz Palkowski will also be shown. "Gods" tells the story of the early career of cardiac surgeon Zbigniew Religa who, despite the harsh reality of 1980s Poland, successfully led a team of doctors to the country's first human heart transplantation. "Breaking the Limits" is based on a true story of a drug addict who became a triathlon champion and a winner of the Ironman competition.

Also screened will be works by Jan P. Matuszynski, Maria Sadowska, Maciej Pieprzyca, Boris Lankosz, Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, Marta Karwowska, Mitja Okorn, and Marta Karwowska.
