Split's Barba Imperial IPA Named Best in Croatia by RateBeer

By 1 February 2019

Have you tried the Barba Imperial IPA yet?

Craft Brewery LAB Split boasts the best Croatian beer in 2018, which was awarded by the highly acclaimed American portal RateBeer, which is “widely recognized as the most in-depth, accurate, and one of the most-visited sources for beer information,” reads the RateBeer website

Specifically, the LAB Barba Imperial IPA is officially Croatia’s best beer and the brewers are proud that, after the extinction of the Jadranska Brewery, Split now has three bustling breweries, reports Dalmatinski Portal on February 1, 2019.

“For those who are not following this growing scene, brewers today produce beers using hops from all over the world, yeast from Norwegian farms or Belgian monasteries, pumpkin, raspberries, salt, yogurt, carob tree, and chili peppers, all designed to make the average drinker ask ‘what have I been drinking all these years?’. Many tourists who come here in the summer, and at the same time, owners of breweries, beer judges, bloggers, and home brewers are surprised by the offer provided, but also by the general lack of knowledge of the locals who have something in front of their doors,” said the Split brewery.

Next time, when you are showering your guests with the gifts of Adriatic squid, olives from Šolta, Pag cheese, Drniš prosciutto, and wine from Pelješac, Hvar, and Vis, remember that there are three breweries in Split who live, work, employ and create excellent beer, each with their own signature.

“Mandrill Nano-Brewing CO., Tap B Craft Brewery & Brewpub Split, LAB Split - Craft Brewery - BARBA. And finally, there is one acknowledgment that we did not expect, and according to this certificate issued by the American portal RateBeer, it seems that Split had the best Croatian beer last year. LAB Barba Imperial IPA was certainly one of the few extreme and interesting beers, and with our luck, it was proclaimed the best. For the end, we will say that we are preparing a great surprise and that it will take the support of all our lovers,” concluded the Split brewery.
