Rocks&Stars Festival @ Cave Romane
After the huge success of the inaugural Rock & Stars Festival last year that saw many stars perform at Cave Romane such as Bond, Darko Rundek and Maksim Mrvica, the festival is all set for a return in 2019 with another vast array of star studded performers
Gibonni, Josipa Lisac, Umberto Tozzi and “4 Tenora” are just some of the many performers included in this years Rocks&Stars @ Cave Romane Festival’s rich line-up.The Festival is held this summer in the Vinkuran quarry on the Medulin Riviera.
The unique stage of Rock&Stars officially opens its doors on the 29th of June with a performance by “4 Tenora”, with Đani Stipaničev, Filip Hozjak, Vladimir Garić and Marko Pecotić in the ensemble. After performing on numerous stages in Croatia, as well as beyond its borders, this ensemble of 4 phenomenal voices will give a magnificent performance in the lavish natural scenery of an old Roman quarry, where they will perform their famous arias, canzonas, and evergreens.
A week later, on June 7th, the Vinkuran audience will be presented with another surprise; a performance of Verdi’s opera “The Troubadour”,one of the most famous operas of all time, produced by the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek. The opera will be performed on an open stage, which will additionally emphasize its dramaturgy. The opera is directed by Robert Bošković and conducted by Maestro Filip Pavišić. Gibonni, the acclaimed musician, composer, and poet will be coming to Vinkuran on July 12th to perform his widely-known hits. Listening to “Gibo” is always a pleasure,and his upcoming performance on the sensational stage of Cave Romane will be a real treat. The audience will be able to experience Gibonni performing his famous notes and verses under the starry sky.
The summer music festival’s Intermezzo is reserved for a stand-up comedy show by Vlatko Štampar on July 25th and a multi-lingual educational performance“The Istrian stories by Robert Paponja”, which will present the region of Istria to the audience through stories, myths, and legends on July 31st.
On August 8th Umberto Tozzi will take the stage. The mega-popular pop musician who has sold more than 70 million album copies will perform his most famous hits, like Gloria, Gente di Mare, Tu, Ti Amo and many more!
The grand finale of the Rocks&Stars @ Cave Romane Festival will take place on August 17th, with a sensational performance by Josipa Lisac, the queen of originality in musical and stage performance, whose show in the ancient Roman quarry the audience eagerly awaits.
The Festival is held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and under the auspices of the Municipality of Medulin, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Medulin, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the Croatian National Tourist Board. The festival organizers are the Medulin Riviera and RTL, and the partners include Bina Istra, Arena Hospitality Group, HEP, Medea vinarija, Croatia osiguranje, Uniline, Stella Artois, Suzuki Pula – Motor Teh. Auto, CMC TV and Glas Istre.
