A dynamic young company discovering Medjimurje by drone.
With drones flying up to 400m in the sky, it is now easier than ever to use them for photography, documenting and scanning. In Međimurje a young company under the name of PROGRESSOF decided to turn their hobby into work. TCN met with them on January 26, 2016.
Q: What is it that you do?
A: PROGRESSOF is a creative studio located in Tech and innovative centre in Čakovec. We're a web/dev, graphic design and photo production studio. What makes us different are drones, unmanned aerial vehicles that we use with all licences for aerial video and photography.
Q: How did you start with aerial photography? When did you decided that the hobby will become your job?
A: Well, two of us, Danijel and Bojan, as cofounders and friends were building drones in our garage for years. We saw the opportunity arise with cheaper, better and more quality camers and went into the aerial photography world. It was a very easy decision!
Q: Your photos are a hit on social networks, which photo is your favorite one?
A: Our favorite photo was made in the autumn of 2015. It shows the sun beams on the cold, foggy autumn morning over Čakovec.
Q: You fly over Međimurje, the northernmost county in Croatia, your home. Do you believe Međimurje has something to offer for tourists?
A: We were born here, but our main motivation is to discover. When we started flying, we discovered places we never thought existed! Some places when seen from above look stunning and some you wouldn't even recognize from this perspective.
Q: What do you need to fly drones and take photos from above? We've seen lots of accidents lately, do you have advice for many amateurs wanting to fly drones?
A: All aerial traffic is controlled by law, there are rules and laws for drones that are here for safety and greater good. We would advise everyone to check their gear, make sure everything is "flight ready" and to enjoy the exploration. Fly safe!
