A mass for Tito in Zagreb.
On Sunday evening, at the Church of St. Mark the Evangelist, a Mass was held for former Yugoslav communist president Josip Broz Tito. The Mass was attended by about a hundred people, reports N1info and 24Sata on January 11, 2016.
"All the prayers during this Christmas season want to place the same thought in our hearts. The Lord came to us. There are all kinds of provocateurs, and I have expected them today", said in his sermon the priest who conducted the Mass. The priest also announced that next Friday there will be a Mass for Croatia and Croatian veterans.
"This piece of Croatian land, they have always tried to take it away. But, in Heaven there is a little piece of Croatia. You will excuse me, but we shall say a prayer also for those who did not want Croatia to exist", said the priest.
"We pray for other bandits, so we can pray for him as well. Let us allow God to judge him", said one of the participants at the Mass who would not reveal his identity.
The Mass for Josip Broz Tito went without problems, in contrast to the Mass held several weeks ago for Ante Pavelić, the leader of the Ustaše movement and the Independent State of Croatia, a puppet state which was established by Nazi Germany during the Second World War. At that time, the protesters who gathered to express their discontent with the Mass for Pavelić were attacked by right-wing extremists about 500 metres from the location of protest.
During the Mass for Josip Broz Tito, the only minor problems were caused by two drunken men who walked through the church during the Mass.
