Have Albanian hackers targeted Dubrovnik?
As DuList reported on the 29th of July, 2017, yesterday, the official site of the City of Dubrovnik ''fell'' at about 21:00.
At first, one could assume this was just another common malfunction of modern technology that we experience (often multiple times) daily, but this time the culprit was not a simple ''Error 404''. Owing to the bizarre image that appeared on the opening page which reads ''Anonymous Albania - United States Of Albania'' following the ''collapse'' of the website, it seems that individuals of Albanian nationality are more than likely guilty for the occurence.
DuList writes that it wonders if one of the possible reasons for this cyber attack is the decision by Croatia to agree to extradite Ismail Morina, an Albanian national, who is believed to be responsible for the wanton disruption of a Serbia v Albania football match back in 2014. Morina was arrested in June in Dubrovnik on the basis of a warrant from Serbia.
It should be noted that the Football Association of Albania has published a press release inviting the authorities to stop Morina's extradition to Serbia.
The administration od the City of Dubrovnik state that they are aware of the technical issue and that it will be resolved.
