Dubrovnik received a total score of 4.27 out of the possible 5, making it the best in the region.
According to the choice of the regional edition of the Congressional Congress magazine, Dubrovnik has been declared the best congress destination in Central and South-Eastern Europe, which can accommodate about a thousand congressional participants, according to a report released today by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
Through the years, this magazine has ranked Dubrovnik among the best congress destinations in this part of Europe, and now, as published on its site, Dubrovnik has been voted the best in the category of destinations that can host approximately one thousand congressional participants.
It also received the prestigious "Meetings Star" regional prize, which is very well-known among congressmen, as it is gained for exceptional achievements in congress tourism field of Central and South-Eastern Europe. The prize is awarded by the internationally specialised magazine called Congress, which recognises individuals and businesses, as well as destinations that emphasise creativity, knowledge and measurable achievements within the congress industry.
This year, the Editorial Board of Congress prepared an overview of the best congress destinations throughout the region, graded respectively by the criteria of natural and cultural factors, security, general infrastructure, traffic infrastructure, tourism infrastructure and congress infrastructure, quality of life and numerous other elements.
''It has been ackowledged once again that Dubrovnik is a successful tourist destination and congress industry [destination], especially in the region and in Europe'' the Dubrovnik Tourist Board said.
In addition to Dubrovnik, other destinations through the country were ranked: Opatija (fifth place with a total rating of 3.92), Rovinj (the seventh place with a score of 3.89), Split (the ninth place with a score of 3.85 ), Rijeka (18th place with a score of 3.70), Zadar (19th place with a score of 3.69), Poreč (tenth place with a score of 3.82), and Šibenik (16th place with a score of 3.72) And Pula (in the 20th place with a score of 3.66).
