It looks like it will be another busy night in Split tonight.
The third weekend August brings in traditionally large crowds as ferries are expected to be full in both directions. This Sunday evening, however, the evening hours expect an even larger number of passengers coming back from the islands, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on August 20, 2017.
Drivers are being specifically warned to avoid the Split Ferry Port from 19:00-22:00 this evening because, according to Jadrolinija, large traffic jams are expected due to a significant number of vehicles on the roads in this short period of time.
It should also be noted that two ferries set sail for Ancona tonight - one Jadrolinija and one SNAV - which will transport 2,000 passengers and 600 vehicles.
Thus, passengers can expect rows of traffic when embarking on the aforementioned ferries. There will also be a large number of trucks that need to sort their customs formalities. Be prepared.
If you can, opt out of traveling around the Split Ferry Port this evening, and avoid the surrounding roads as well. We guarantee this won't be worth the headache.
