Slovenian Iskra Company Acquires Croatia's Elka

ZAGREB, 23 May, 2021 - The Slovenian Iskra company is taking over the Croatian Elka company, and the transaction will be carried out upon fulfillment of conditions, including approval of regulators for the protection of market competition in the two countries, the two companies said on Sunday. According to a joint press release, Iskra director and majority owner Dušan Šešok and Elka -Cotra group owner Miljenko Hacek on Saturday signed an agreement on the acquisition of the 100% stake in Elka, the largest producer of electric cables in this part of Europe. Fitch Affirms Croatia at 'BBB-', Outlook Stable

ZAGREB, 22 May 2021 - Fitch Ratings on Friday affirmed Croatia's rating at 'BBB-', with a stable outlook, saying that pressure on state finance linked to the pandemic should be neutralised by economic recovery on the back of tourism and EU support. The 'BBB-' rating balances strong structural features, the agency says, singling out better indicators of human development and governance in comparison with countries with a similar rating and higher GDP per capita. Crobex Drops by 0.5% as Dalekovod Shares Plunge in Price

ZAGREB, 21 May 2021 - The Zagreb Stock Exchange Crobex index ended the last trading day of the week by going down by 0.5%, due to a drastic fall in the price of the Dalekovod transmission line producer's shares of 59%.  The Crobex index fell by 0.52% to 1,943 points while the Crobex10 remained stable at 1,200 points. Average Wage Earned in Croatia in March Totals HRK 7,138

ZAGREB, 20 May 2021 - Croatia's take-home pay in March came to HRK 7,138, rising 6.3% on the year in the nominal terms and five percent in the real terms, according to the data released by the national statistical office on Thursday (DZS). Passenger Transport 31% Down, Transport of Goods 4.5% Down in Q1

ZAGREB, 20 May 2021 - A total of 11.3 million passengers were transported in Croatia by all means of transport in the first three months of 2021, which is around 5.2 million fewer passengers or a 31.4% drop from the same period of 2020, while the transport of commodities dropped by 4.5% to close to 28 million tonnes.
