Brodotrogir Workers Rally Demanding Overdue Wages

ZAGREB, 20 February, 2021 -  An estimated 200 protesters rallied in the coastal town of Trogir near Split on Saturday, demanding the payment of their belated wages from the Brodotrogir shipbuilding company. About 150 workers in this Trogir-based dock have not been paid in full for months. Production Halted in Osijek Sugar Factory, Županja Plant Only One to Continue Working

ZAGREB, 17 February 2021 - The Croatian Sugar Industry (HIŠ) company confirmed on Wednesday that this year sugar would be produced only at the Županja sugar factory while the sugar factory in Osijek would cease production after the factory in Virovitica halted production. HIŠ management board chair Željko Zadro said that of the 202 workers of the Osijek Sugar Factory, 81 had already agreed to the termination of their contracts and would receive severance pay. Sovereignists Call for Exempting Tourist Accommodation Renters from Tax

ZAGREB, 17 February 2021 - The Croatian Sovereignists party has put forward a bill of amendments to the Tourist Tax Act and the General Taxation Act to automatically exempt small providers of tourist accommodation from paying 50% of the residence tax and flat-rate tax when special circumstances are declared.
