Passenger Transport in 2020 Drops 42%, Cargo Transport Mildly Up

ZAGREB, 24 February 2021  - In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic markedly affected passenger transport in Croatia, which dropped 42.1% on the year, while cargo transport saw a 0.3% increase, according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. Last year 48.7 million passengers were transported and all types of passenger transport recorded decreases - 13.1 million were transported by rail (-33.9%), 26.2 million by road (-44.2%) and 9.8 million by sea (-42.1%). The sharpest fall was recorded in air transport, of 70.3%, with 675,000 passengers transported. As for cargo, 123.3 million tonnes were transported in 2020, up 0.3% on 2019. Jutarnji List: New Croatian Computer Developed

ZAGREB, 24 February 2021 - A group of Croatian IT companies have developed a new computer for education purposes, a counterpart to the BBC's micro:bit, the Jutarnji List newspaper wrote on Wednesday. The name of the Croatian computer is VIDI X. It is an open-code microcomputer intended for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education in schools. Ericsson Nikola Tesla Nets HRK 94.5m Profit in 2020

ZAGREB, 23 February 2021 - Ericsson Nikola Tesla netted HRK 94.5 million in profit in 2020, down 7.8% on the year, while sales revenue grew 13.7% to HRK 2.02 billion, according to the company's consolidated financial statement released via the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
