Work Permits Quota for Foreigners Set at 78,470 in 2020

ZAGREB, November 22, 2019 - The Croatian government on Friday decided that during 2020 it would be possible to issue 78,470 work permits for foreigners in 2020. The quota includes new employment of foreigners, seasonal employment, transfer of workers within a company and employment for strategical investment projects. The new employment quota stands at 64,604 permits. Broken down by sectors, construction can hire 33,300 foreigners, tourism and hospitality service can count on 18,370 permits, the transport sector 2,904, metal industry 2,300, food industry 1,410, agriculture and forestry 1,380 and so on. Investments in Croatian Startups to Reach 120 Million USD in 2019

Croatia Will Push for Establishment of Energy Union

Television Broadcasters Earn 143.3 Million Kuna in Profit

ZAGREB, November 20, 2019 - The total profit of television broadcasters in 2018 was 143.3 million kuna, shows an analysis conducted by the Financial Agency (FINA) on the occasion of World Television Day, November 21. In 2018, there were 52 companies broadcasting television programmes with 3,794 employees, their total revenues amounting to 2.3 billion kuna, up 2.3% from the previous year. Their expenditure was 2.1 billion kuna, 0.6% more than in 2017, and they earned 143.3 million kuna in net profit, 7.8% more than in 2017. Proportion of Women in Ownership Structure of Companies in Croatia at 31.3%

ZAGREB, November 19, 2019 - The proportion of women in the ownership structure of companies in Croatia in 2018 was 31.3%, according to a study by the Financial Agency (FINA), released on Tuesday on the occasion of World Women Entrepreneurs' Day. The study found that last year 26,676 companies or 22% were solely owned by women, while an additional 12,518 companies were co-owned by women with men and/or legal entities, which puts the total proportion of women entrepreneurs at 31.3%.
