30 Years Since Biggest POW Exchange in Homeland War Marked

ZAGREB, 14 August, 2022 - The 30th anniversary of the biggest POW exchange during the Homeland War was marked in Nemetin, eastern Croatia on Sunday by remembering the torture they suffered and the slow justice for those responsible. Art Zagreb Fair to Show Works by Ukrainian Artists

ZAGREB, 14 August, 2022 - Five Ukrainian galleries will present works by Ukrainian artists created during the Russian aggression on their country as part of the Art Zagreb fair on 15-18 September. Sinković Brothers Win Gold at European Rowing Championships

ZAGREB, 14 August, 2022 - Croatian brothers Valent and Martin Sinković on Sunday won the gold medal in the Men's Double Sculls at the 2022 European Rowing Championships taking place in Munich. The brothers won their 19th big competition medal with a time of 6:35.93. Spain's Aleix Garcia Pujolar and Rodrigo Conde Romen (6:38.46) finished second, while Latvia's Armandas Kelmelis and Dovydas Nemeravicius were third (6:42.11).

Croatia Logs 629 New COVID Cases, 12 Deaths

ZAGREB, 14 August, 2022 - In the last 24 hours, 629 coronavirus cases, out of 2,125 tests, and 12 related deaths have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Sunday. There are 7,234 active cases, including 612 hospitalised patients, 25 of whom are on ventilators, while 5,749 persons are self-isolating. Croatia has registered 1,200,742 covoronavirus cases to date, the death toll is 16,496 and 68.83% of adults have been vaccinated.

Speleologists Report Accelerated Melting of Ice in Velebit Caves

ZAGREB, 14 August, 2022 - An international speleological expedition, which is exploring 15 caves in environmentally protected areas of Mount Velebit for the second week, has noticed an accelerated melting of ice deep underground, linking it to climate change. Zagreb Crew Wins 25th Neretva Boat Marathon

ZAGREB, 13 Aug (Hina) - The crew from Zagreb won the 25th Neretva Boat Marathon, and raced on Saturday afternoon down a 22.5 kilometre stretch of the river Neretva from the town of Metković to the seaport of Ploče. The Zagreb crew finished the race in two hours and eight minutes of rowing. The Stablina crew finished second, and a crew from Metković finished third. Thirty crews competed this year. The Neretva Boat Marathon is an amateur sporting competition between rowers in traditional boats.
