Croatia Logs 1,899 New COVID-19 Cases, 16 Related Deaths

ZAGREB, 27 July 2022 - In the last 24 hours, 1,899 coronavirus cases, out of 4,862 tests, and 16 related deaths have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Wednesday. There are 10,325 active cases, including 647 hospitalised patients, of whom 20 on ventilators, while 4,934 persons are self-isolating. Croatia has registered 1,180,857 coronavirus cases to date, the death toll is 16,265, and 70.84% of adults have been vaccinated, including 68.81% fully. A Few Thousand Cars Expected to Drive Over Pelješac Bridge on 1st Day

ZAGREB, 27 July 2022 - According to information from the HC road operator, 2,700 cars used Pelješac Bridge in the first ten hours since its inauguration, while the local border police in Metković reported that since the opening of the bridge, traffic across the Klek border crossing has dwindled. BAT Gets Logistic Centre in Northeast Croatia to Store Tobacco from 26 Countries

ZAGREB, 27 July 2022 - The Hrvatski Duhani company specialised in tobacco wholesale trade, which operates within British American Tobacco (BAT), has opened a regional logistics and distribution centre in Pitomača, northeastern Croatia, BAT said in a press release on Wednesday. The 4,000-square-large facility will store tobacco supplies from 26 countries and will be the central point for the provision of tobacco supplies to BAT's factories in Augustow, Poland, Bayreuth, Germany and Pecs, Hungary. Croatia's May Industrial Turnover Jumps 24.3% y-o-y, 10% m-o-m

ZAGREB, 27 July 2022 - In May 2022, industrial turnover was 24.3% higher on the year and 10% on the month, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) said on Tuesday. Year on year, industrial turnover went up by 28.2% on the domestic and by 19.4% on the foreign market. In May, the highest year-on-year increase was recorded in the sale of energy, +58.6%. Drivers and Pedestrians Warned About Taking Pelješac Bridge Photos: It's Dangerous!

July 27, 2022 - Hrvatske Ceste has sent a warning to drivers and pedestrians taking Pelješac Bridge photos from the shoulder lane.
