Zagreb Mayor Announces Talks on LGBT Associations' Demand for Own Center

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević said on Saturday he would talk with LGBT associations about their demands for getting their own center, stated at today's 21st Pride parade. "There are various models to realize that. We'll see the details, what they are proposing," he said while taking part in the march. Tomašević said the 21st Pride was a parade for the 21st century Zagreb, a city "which is open to every diversity, tolerant of all differences and open to all." Croatia Records 267 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - In the last 24 hours 267 coronavirus cases, out of 1,960 tests, and no related deaths have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Saturday. There are 2,022 active cases, including 184 hospitalized patients, six of whom are on ventilators, while 966 persons are self-isolating. To date Croatia has registered 1,137,864 coronavirus cases, the death toll stands at 15,998, and 70.8% of the adult population has been vaccinated. 21st Zagreb Pride Parade Begins

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - The 21st Zagreb Pride parade of LGBTIQ+ persons and families started from a full Roosevelt Square around 3.30 pm on Saturday under the ironic motto "Give us our four walls!" Citizens Won't Be Left at Mercy of Price Hikes, Deputy PM Says

This Season's First Tourist Train from Prague Arrives in Rijeka

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - This summer season's first train within the Czech rail operator RegioJet's seasonal service on the Prague- Zagreb-Rijeka/Split route arrived in Rijeka on Saturday morning, bringing more than 250 travellers to this northern Croatian seaport. In Prague, about 600 passengers boarded the train, and of them 250 travelled for Rijeka while the remaining passengers are bound for Split. This is the third season that RegioJet is operating this service. In the previous two seasons, an estimated 150,000 passengers used this service to travel between Czechia, Slovakia and Croatia. Employers to Be No Longer Required to Garnish Wages Upon Euro Adoption

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - The planned changeover to the euro in 2023 obliges Croatia to amend a set of laws, including the legislation regulating the enforced collection of delinquent debts, the Jutarnji List (JL) daily reported on Saturday. Apart from changing all the laws that cite the kuna, some other laws will have to be amended, the daily newspaper says, adding that the change would further reinforce the protection of consumers against invalid contracts. Renovated Fortress of St. John in Šibenik Opened to Public

ZAGREB, 4 June 2022 - The renovated Fortress of St. John, one of the four medieval fortresses of the Croatian coastal city of Šibenik, was formally opened at a ceremony at that seaside city on Friday evening.
