Croatia Logs 421 New COVID-19 Cases, Five Related Deaths

ZAGREB, 26 May 2022 - In the past 24 hours, 421 coronavirus cases, out of 3,379 tests, and five related deaths were registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Thursday. There are 2,939 active cases, including 222 hospitalized patients, five of whom are on ventilators, while 1,193 persons are self-isolating. To date, Croatia has registered 1,135,549 coronavirus cases, the death toll is 15,978, and 70.79% of the adult population has been vaccinated, including 68.73% fully. Russia Says Disappointed with Croatia's Hostile Behaviour

ZAGREB, 26 May 2022 - Russia is disappointed with the hostile actions of the Croatian authorities in recent months, but hopes their mutually beneficial cooperation will be restored, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. The statement was released on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Croatia and Slovenia, and the latter is also accused of "destroying bilateral relations." Hailstorm in Northern Croatia Destroys Almost Half of Country's Flower Production

ZAGREB, 25 May 2022 - A hailstorm hit the north of Croatia on Wednesday afternoon, causing extensive damage on facilities and agricultural land and destroying almost half of the country's flower production. The hailstorm hit the area along the border with Slovenia in Krapina-Zagorje County, a number of communities and towns in Varaždin County and a part of Međimurje County. Veliki Bukovec in Varaždin County and Hum na Sutli in Krapina-Zagorje County have suffered the most extensive damage.
