Campaign Launched to Raise Public Awareness to Protect Children's Rights

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - Children's rights are jeopardised on a daily basis and reports of violence against children and child neglect have been increasingly frequent, it was said at a panel discussion this past week at which a campaign for the protection of children's rights was launched. Božinović: Higher Influx of Refugees From Ukraine Can be Expected

Negotiations on Bosnia Electoral Law Amendment Fail

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - The latest round of the negotiations on amending Bosnia and Herzegovina's electoral law, which was held in Sarajevo on Sunday, ended inconclusively, with Bosnia Croat leader Dragan Čović saying that "there are absolutely no conditions" for holding general elections in October. EU Demand for New Cars Continues to Fall

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - Demand for new cars in the European Union (EU) dropped in February 2022 for the eighth consecutive month due to supply chain disruptions, with Croatia also recording a decline, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) reported this week. A total of 719,465 new cars were registered in the EU in February 2022, which is 6.7% fewer than in the same month in 2021 and the lowest number since 1993 when ACEA began collecting data. Croatia's Coronavirus Update: 901 New Cases, 10 Deaths

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - Croatia has recorded 901 new coronavirus cases and 10 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours, the national coronavirus response team reported on Sunday. The number of active cases currently stands at 10,697. Among them are 661 infected people who have been hospitalised and 44 of them are on ventilators, while 8,338 people are self-isolating. Over 4.62 million tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been conducted to date, including 4,034 in the last 24 hours. 7th Round of First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme Starts Monday

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - A new round of applications for subsidised housing loans starts on Monday when the relevant APN agency starts receiving the requests, while the government has set aside HRK 50 million (€6.7 million) for this purpose. After the completion of a public call for banks to submit their offers, on 4 March, APN concluded contracts with 14 credit institutions on subsidised housing loans. Minister: Tooth Decay Incidence Among 12-year-olds on Decline

NGO: Croatia Provides Free Vaccination, Registration for Animals From Ukraine

ZAGREB, 20 March 2022 - Animals and family pets that arrive from Ukraine with their owners fleeing the war, will be eligible to free-of-charge vaccination and registration in Croatia, the association "Animal Friends Croatia" stated on Sunday.
