COVID-19 Response Team: Share of Infections with Delta Coronavirus Variant Rising

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021- The results of the latest sequencing of samples sent on 20 July show that 13% of the samples were infected with the Alpha coronavirus variant while 84% were infected with the Delta variant, meaning that the share of the new variant in Croatia has continued to grow, the COVID-19 response team has said. Geographic Information System for Maritime Domain in Split County Presented

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - A geographic information system for the maritime domain in Split-Dalmatia County was presented on Friday by county head Blaženko Boban, who called on citizens to report cases of devastation of the maritime domain so that it could be protected as much as possible. Croatia Airlines Generates Net Loss of HRK 147.4 mn in H1 2021

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021- The Croatia Airlines national flag carrier's net loss in the first half of 2021 amounts to HRK 147.4 million, HRK 25.8 million or 15% less than in the comparable period of 2020, the airline reported on Friday. In the period from January to June, the airline conducted a total of 5,421 flights and transported 208,657 passengers, 37% down from the first six months of 2020. The number of passengers on regular domestic flights decreased by 15% (71,367 passengers) and on international flights by 46% (131,181) while charter flights transported 8% more passengers (6,109) year-on-year. Croatia's June Unemployment Rate Slightly above EU Average

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell both in the EU and the euro area in June 2021, while in Croatia it was slightly above the EU average, a Eurostat report showed on Friday. The EU unemployment rate was 7.1% in June 2021, down from 7.3% in May 2021 and down from 7.3% in June 2020. Deal on Construction of Road Connecting D403 Road and Rijeka Port Signed

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - A contract on the construction of a road connecting the D-403 state road and the port in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka, worth HRK 32.2 million, was signed in the offices of the Rijeka Port Authority on Friday. Also signed was a contract on the supervision of construction work, worth HRK 837,500. The D403 road is a planned 2.5 km state road connecting the A7 motorway Škurinje interchange with the centre of the city of Rijeka and the Port of Rijeka West Terminal. COVID-19 Restrictions to Remain in Force until 15 August

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - The national COVID-19 response team said on Friday that COVID-19 measures regarding the compulsory wearing of face masks, shop work as well as public transport and organised gatherings, would be extended until 15 August.  Children under the age of 12 will not be required to have COVID-19 certificates when attending gatherings with their parents. Petrokemija Posts H1 Net Profit of HRK 48m

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - Fertiliser manufacturer Petrokemija generated a net profit of HRK 48 million in the first half of 2021, which is 80% less than in the same period of 2020, according to the company's financial statement released on Friday. Total operating revenue fell by 3.0% to HRK 936 million, with sales revenue declining by 5.0% to HRK 918 million. Operating expenditure increased by 23% to HRK 888 million. Croatia's Industrial Stockpiles Down Month on Month and Year on Year

ZAGREB, 30 July 2021 - Croatia's stockpiles of finished industrial goods in June 2021 were 6.9% lower than in the previous month and 1.6% lower than in June 2020, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS). Broken down by main industrial groupings, compared with May 2021, energy stockpiles fell the most, by 17.8%. Stockpiles of capital goods decreased by 12.7%, non-durable consumer goods by 6.2%, intermediate goods by 4.7% and durable consumer goods by 0.1%.
