ZAGREB, 22 Nov 2021 - Croatia's social protection expenditure amounted to €11.2 billion last year, or slightly less than €3,000 per capita, which is a quarter of the country's GDP and around the European average, Večernji List daily said on Monday. According to Eurostat's methodology, expenditure on social protection benefits includes allocations for the elderly, health care, persons with disabilities, family and children, war veterans, unemployment, social exclusion, and housing.
