We've already written about Croatian Tourist Board's promotional campaign which brings major global online influencers to Croatia and works with them on creating content for social media, with the intent of the beauties of Croatia becoming viral. This year, as lokalni.vecernji.hr writes they welcomed 5 popular influencers from Germany and UK. Those countries were carefully chosen, as the idea was to attract as many young, potential visitors to Croatia as possible, and selecting these influencers might help with that goal. Their first reactions are very positive, and the guests are delighted with what continental Croatia has to offer. The influencers…

Croatia Determined to Connect Coastal and Continental Tourism

Although Croatia's coastal and continental cooperation has been discussed for years, it has not yet reached a level that would satisfy all the participants of that story. Therefore, a working meeting of the leaders of Vukovar-Srijem and Dubrovnik-Neretva County was held in the Dubrovnik Palace of Ranjina, where they discussed establishing stronger economic cooperation between the land and the sea, i.e., the ”green" and "blue" Croatia, reports Lokalni.Večernji.hr on February 6, 2019.  It was concluded that there is room for cooperation in the marketing of products from Vukovar-Srijem County to the tourist sector in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It was announced that…

A January to Remember for Dubrovnik: 41% More Tourists than 2018

No one is ever genuinely surprised when they hear that tourism in Dubrovnik is growing - and fast. We have only been following the same story year after year after year. While we expect the summer months to be busier than ever, it’s always satisfying to hear that year-round tourism in Croatia is also slowly gaining some traction. December is dedicated for Advent, after all. But what happens in January while most of us fall into a slumber and post-holiday hibernation?  An incredible jump in Dubrovnik tourism. According to the eVisitor system, which monitors tourist arrivals, not including data for nautical…

Your Split to Zagreb Road Trip Itinerary, with a Plitvice Pit Stop

February 4, 2019 - With the spring season a month and a half away and summer hitting us before we know it, we hope we can make these bleak winter days go by a bit quicker with ideas for your 2019 holidays. Like road-tripping from Split to Zagreb, for example.  Perhaps one of the most popular year-round routes in Croatia, getting from Split to Zagreb doesn’t have to be painful. Sure, you can get there with a 30-minute flight (though it’ll cost you a pretty penny), and then there’s the bus, the far more affordable option, though delayed buses and…

Hvar Skiing from the Peak to the Beach of Europe's Sunniest Island

January 3, 2019 - Hvar skiing? Yes really. The hotels allegedly offer a free stay if it snows, and some ski from the peak to the beach. Having lived on the edge of Siberia in temperatures as low as -32 C, I was already very used to snow. Unlike many residents on Hvar, where the island's famous temperate climate seemed to keep the snow at bay while other islands were covered in white powder.  But I was shocked (not as much as the locals!) when I woke up this morning seven years ago. The alarm had gone off early, as we…
