One Dead After Car Drives Off Road During Police Pursuit for Migrants

14 February, 2022 - One person was killed on Monday when a car hurtled off the road near Fužine, after the driver did not stop for police officers and continued to drive through a lowered ramp at the motorway toll station, Primorje-Gorski Kotar police said. The fleeing car landed in a 20-metre deep ravine near Kraljev Jarak and Rogozno, on the old road through Gorski Kotar, in the hinterland of Rijeka nearly 40 minutes after it passed through the road barrier. US Aircraft Carrier Crew Satisfied With Visit to Split

14 February, 2022 - The American aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman is docking in Split from 11 to 15 February, and members of its crew who visited this biggest Croatian Adriatic city on Monday expressed satisfaction with their stay. "Food is incredible. The sights are amazing as well," Lieutenant Patrick Hageman, a pilot of an MH-60 Sierra helicopter, said after a sightseeing tour. He added that people "are welcoming" and that he "loves this city." HZZ: 130,993 Jobless at End of January

14 February, 2022 - A total of 130,993 unemployed persons were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) at the end of January 2022, up by 4.2% from the previous month and down 20.8% while compared with January 2021, the HZZ said on Monday. HZZ records show that there were 5,278 unemployed people or 4.2% more at the end of January 2022 than at the end of December 2021. Croatia Reports 1,061 New Coronavirus Cases, 64 Deaths

14 February, 2022 - Croatia has registered 1,061 new coronavirus cases and 64 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases in the country currently stands at 31,000, and 2,097 of them are being treated in hospitals, including 146 who are on ventilators, while 16,642 persons are self-isolating, the national coronavirus response team said on Monday.
