Conference on the Future of Europe: Citizens Call for Joint European Army, No Veto in Foreign Policy Matters

ZAGREB, 13 Feb 2022 - EU citizens attending the Conference on the Future of Europe on Sunday called for establishing a joint EU army, taking decisions on foreign policy issues by qualified majority, and adopting a common migration policy. A total of 184 citizens from all EU member states met in Maastricht on Friday and Saturday to formulate through smaller working groups, policy proposals on the topic "EU in the world and migration". Commercial Accommodation Facilities See Large Increases in December and All of 2021

ZAGREB, 13 Feb 2022 - A total of 70.2 million bed nights were generated in commercial accommodation facilities in Croatia in 2021, 72% more than in 2020, with 63 million or 78% generated by foreign tourists, leading to a 297.6% increase in bed nights generated by foreign visitors in December. In addition to the huge increase in bed nights compared to 2020, 12.8 million or 82.5% more tourists stayed in commercial accommodation facilities in 2021, and of that,10.6 million were foreigners, a 92% increase year-on-year, show data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS). Study Shows 20% of Secondary School Students Exposed to Online Sexual Harassment

ZAGREB, 13 Feb (Hina) - As many as 20% of secondary school students have witnessed or experienced online sexual harassment, and nearly half have seen their peers share sexual content via chat, a profile or forum, according to results of a DeShame study. The study has shown that children and young people send and receive sexual content (sexting) from people they know and from strangers. Croatian Citizens See Defense of Freedom of Speech and Movement as European Parliament's Top Priority

ZAGREB, 14 Feb 2022 - The highest share of Croatian citizens think that the European Parliament's (EP) priority is to defend freedom of speech and freedom of movement, while most respondents in the European Union (EU) think that the EP's top priority should be to defend democracy, a Eurobarometer survey released last Tuesday shows. Croatia Logs 49 COVID-19-Related Deaths, 2,730 New Infections

ZAGREB, 13 Feb 2022 - In the last 24 hours 2,730 coronavirus cases, out of 7,707 tests, and 49 related deaths have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Sunday. There are 37,089 active cases, including 2,115 hospitalised patients, of whom 158 are hooked up to ventilators, while 19,497 persons are self-isolating. To date 56.72% of the total population, or 67.48% of adults have been vaccinated, with 65.21% of adults fully vaccinated. Neanderthal Stone Tool Found at New Excavation Site in Croatia

February 13th, 2022 - An incredible discovery was made in the Upper Barać Cave in Rakovica near Plitvice Lakes. Foreign Minister Says There are 114 Croatians in Ukraine

ZAGREB, 13 Feb 2022 - There are 114 Croatian nationals in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said on Sunday, adding that for the time being, there was no reason to close the Croatian embassy in Kyiv.
