President Grabar-Kitarović to Visit Canada

The President will take part in a security forum and meet with dignitaries and Canadian Croats.

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will participate on Saturday at the International Security Forum in the Canadian city of Halifax, where she will speak at the plenary session about NATO. On the sidelines of the forum, she will meet with Canadian Defence Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan, announced the President’s Office of Public Relations on Wednesday, reports Večernji List on November 16, 2016.

During her working visit to Canada, President Grabar-Kitarović will also visit Norval, Kitchener and Toronto in the province of Ontario. In Norval, she will address participants of the Croatian-Canadian Youth Mentorship Event, which will bring together students, members of the Croatian-Canadian community, former scholarship holders of the Croatian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and their mentors from different professions.

On Monday, President Grabar-Kitarović will arrive in Kitchener and meet with Mayor Berry Vrbanovic and representatives of the Croatian community. At the University of Waterloo in Kitchener, in addition to the top officials of the University, the President will meet with the Vice Dean of Croatian Studies and students of the Croatian language, and will visit the Lazaridis computer centre.

Also on Monday, President Grabar-Kitarović will visit Toronto and meet separately with the Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell and Ontario Prime Minister Kathleen Wynne, as well as with the representatives of the Croatian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

During her stay in Toronto, it is expected that the President will take part in the roundtable dedicated to the strengthening of the position and role of women in society and will meet with Canadian businesspeople where she will talk about the possibilities of investing in Croatia.

At the end of her working visit to Canada, the Croatian President will participate in a charity dinner of Canadian Croats for the restoration of the Vukovar water tower.
