The results of the latest political poll are here.
According to the results of regular monthly survey conducted by Promocija Plus agency at the beginning of February, HDZ is currently by far the most popular political party in Croatia, reports HRT on February 5, 2017.
If parliamentary elections were held in early February, HDZ would be the winner with 34 percent of support (32.5 percent in January), while SDP would be second with 22.3 percent (24.7 percent in January). The two largest parties are followed by MOST with 7.2 percent (8.8 percent), Živi Zid with 5.8 percent (4.7 percent), HNS with 3.9 percent (3.5 percent), and HSS with 2.3 percent of support (2.1 percent in January).
The list of politicians about whom voters have a positive impression is headed by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković who was selected as the most positive politician by 24 percent of respondents (23.9 percent in January). He is followed by “no one” with 13.6 percent (12.9 percent in January), President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović with 11.9 percent (13 percent in January), HNS candidate for mayor of Zagreb Anka Mrak-Taritaš with 6.9 percent, and SDP president Davor Bernardić with 6 percent.
The list of politicians with a negative impression among respondents is topped by two politicians who are ending or have already ended their political careers. The first position belongs to former SDP president and Prime Minister Zoran Milanović, who was selected by 13.5 percent of respondents (13.4 percent in January). He is followed by his former chief rival and former HDZ president Tomislav Karamarko with 12.6 percent (17.2 percent in January) and MP Ivan Pernar (Živi Zid) with 11.7 percent (just 3.2 percent in January).
The direction of the county is supported by 31.5 percent of citizens (27.8 percent in January). In this month's survey, 55.2 percent of the respondents believe that Croatia is heading in the wrong direction (60.1 percent in January).
The level of support for policies and activities of the government in the fourth month of its term stands at 49.4 percent (56.8 percent in January). For comparison, in the same month of its term, Prime Minister Milanović’s government had the support of 58.1 percent of citizens.
On the 1 to 5 scale, Andrej Plenković’s government received an average grade of 2.61 (2.60 in January). Zoran Milanović’s government had a slightly higher average grade of 2.69. President Kolinda Grabar- Kitarović received average grade of 3.13, while Parliament received average grade of 2.34.
Respondents were also asked about the most important topic or event in January. Three answers received more than ten percent of votes: possible buyback of shares of INA and partial privatization of HEP (19.0 percent), decisions made by US President Donald Trump (16.0 percent), and the fourth position of Croatian national handball team at the World Handball Championships (10.8 percent).
