By 14 October 2017

Dubrovnik's Mayor has issued Excelsa Nekretnine with a firm ultimatum.

As DuList reports on the 13th of October, 2017, Dubrovnik's Mayor Mato Franković has requested supervision over the business operations of Excelsa Nekretnine d.d. when it comes to the questionable operation of Dubrovnik's popular cable car which takes countless people up and down Mount Srdj every year. One prominent state institution, DORH, has also been informed about everything.

''Inspection has been requested because, even after a series of repeated inquiries, no signed contracts were delivered to the City of Dubrovnik, the company isn't paying the concession fees or fulfilling its obligations in accordance with the regulations of the Republic of Croatia and the decision of the City Council of the City of Dubrovnik'' - they state from the City of Dubrovnik.

Mato Franković addressed the County State Attorney's Office in Dubrovnik, informing them that the company Excelsa Nekretnine is undertaking economic activity for which a concession is needed, without having concluded a concession contract and without paying a concession fee to the City of Dubrovnik.

''By doing this [behaving this way], the company, aside from illegally obtaining material gain, has incurred damage to the Budget of the City of Dubrovnik,'' Mayor Franković wrote to the State Attorney's Office.

The announcement also referred back to the fact that the City of Dubrovnik had already officially addressed the company of Excelsa Nekretnine by requesting for the company to submit to the City of Dubrovnik, as concessionaire, three signed copies of the concession contract within three days of the receipt of Franković's letter.

The same letter to the company indicates that, if no copies of the signed contract are submitted before the aforementioned deadline, the City of Dubrovnik will notify all the competent authorities and institutions of this violation of the provisions of the Law on Concessions.
