Prime Minister of German State Baden-Wuerttemberg to Visit Croatia

ZAGREB, April 16, 2018 - The Minister President of the German federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg Winfried Kretschmann is scheduled to visit Croatia on Wednesday and Thursday, the German Embassy to Croatia said in a press release Monday, adding that the visit was aimed at further building cooperation.

Kretschmann is arriving with a delegation consisting of numerous officials and representatives of the executive and judicial authorities, science, culture and civil society from Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Kretschmann is expected to meet Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Economy Minister Martina Dalić and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić, the statement said.

On the first day of his visit, Kretschmann will visit Vukovar and hold talks with representatives of the city, county and civil society organisations. On Thursday, Kretschmann will visit the Rimac Automobili company, read the statement.

Although Baden-Wuerttemberg has relatively few natural resources compared to other regions of Germany, the state is among the most prosperous and wealthiest regions in Europe with a generally low unemployment rate historically. A number of well-known enterprises are headquartered in the state, for example Daimler AG, Porsche, Robert Bosch GmbH (automobile industry).
