By 4 May 2018

ZAGREB, May 4, 2018 – About 2,000 people passed through the House of Flowers, the final resting place of Josip Broz Tito, in Belgrade on Friday to observe the 38th anniversary of the death of the Yugoslav Communist leader.

Most of the people who came to pay tribute arrived from the former Yugoslav republics of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia. There were also tourists, mostly from Russia, Spain, China and Japan.

Wreath-laying ceremonies were held by representatives of anti-fascist associations.

Tito led Yugoslavia from the end of the Second World War until his death in 1980. His rule is considered controversial.
