Croatian government will send a motion to the Arbitrary tribunal today.
Yes, this news comes from yet another “high positioned source” in the Croatian government like so many other lately that turn out to be true in the end, but as it was reported today, the Croatian side thinks that the Arbitrary Court should dismiss itself because the scandal with the Slovenian representatives has compromised its integrity so any decision brought forth by this court cannot be considered as legit.
Let us remind you, this scandal broke on Wednesday when Croatian and Serbian media published transcripts showing that the Slovenian member of the arbitrary committee and a Slovenian diplomat were discussing arguments and lobbying strategies in the border dispute case between Croatia and Slovenia.
"An ideal situation would be for the court to dismiss itself after it receives our motion” the source added “We don't want to take part in this anymore. How can we expect a legit decision in accordance with the arbitrary agreement and procedural rules?” the source asked.
In the meantime, both persons involved in the affair, Jernej Sokolec and Simona Drenik have resigned, and the court announced that the proceedings will continue as soon as the open position is filled.
Croatian government believes this is a technical answer of the court in the situation where they lost one of their members, without addressing the actual problem. A letter will be sent during the day today explaining all recent events with links to all audio files and transcripts of conversations between Slovenian officials.
