ZAGREB, May 27, 2018 - In the night between Saturday and Sunday, the police in Sisak-Moslavina County arrested five migrant smugglers from Romania, Pakistan and Iraq, who had tried to smuggle through Croatia 48 foreign nationals – 24 Afghans and as many Iranians.
The smugglers – two Romanians, a Pakistani and two Iraqis – were arrested in two separate police operations, in Gređani in Topusko municipality, and Žirovac, in the municipality of Dvor, while trying to smuggle illegal migrants through Croatia on to other EU countries.
