ZAGREB, 22 December, 2021 - President Zoran Milanović said on Wednesday that PM Andrej Plenković's comment on his having cancelled his visit to Nova Bila in Bosnia and Herzegovina for security reasons was "insane", and that Plenković was saying what Sarajevo unitarianists and oppressors of BiH Croats were saying.
Milanović was to have travelled to Nova Bila last Sunday, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of a humanitarian convoy from Croatia to Nova Bila and Bosna Srebrena, but his visit was cancelled for security reasons.
Describing Plenković's comment on the cancellation of his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanović said it was insane and that he did not understand it.
"It is interesting, though, that he said he did not have any data indicating that I should not travel to Nova Bila."
"One of us is lying, he probably does not have any data, unless he asked for them. He could have and he would have been provided with them, as I would if the situation was the other way round," he said.
"But to make such a statement, actually (siding) with the secret services in Sarajevo and saying what Sarajevo unitarianists and oppressors of Bosnia and Herzegovina Croats are saying?" Milanović said in a comment on Plenković's statement about the cancellation of his visit.
Plenković said that he did not know why Milanović did not travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that he would have received information "if there was anything important, dramatic or alarming security-wise."
"So I'm making things up but the BiH central security agency is right. That's the Croatian prime minister for you," said Milanović.
He added that he would send Plenković the relevant data if he did not have them.
"He can contact me and I will explain to him why in such situations you simply do not play with other people's security," he said.
