The best Croatian skier in history has announced his decision on his Facebook page today
Ivica Kostelić, the best Croatian skier, and one of the greatest Croatian athletes ever has announced his decision to continue with skiing for one more season on April 19. 2016.
Kostelić was on an active holiday in Iceland for the last few weeks, hiking through the hard mountainous routes on the north, recording his adventure for a documentary.
Here is what he wrote today on his official Facebook page: “Walking across Iceland, I often thought about my future. It is my great wish to perform at least once again in front of my home crowd at the Snow Queen Trophy in Zagreb. Therefore, I decided to go on competing at least until January next year. Possible further continuation of ski racing will depend on the results and the state of my knee.”
His decision will make his fans happy, although it will hugely depend on the health of the legendary skier as he pointed out in his announcement.
