Croatian female tennis players Mirjana Lučić-Baroni and Ajla Tomljanović made a successful start at the WTA tournament in Acapulco. First seeded Lučić-Baroni defeated Swiss Belinda Bencic with 7-5, 6-4, while Tomljanović was better than Canadian Eugenie Bouchard with 7-6(4), 6-1.
