Latest FIFA Rankings Released: Where Does Croatia Stand?

The latest FIFA rankings were released today, March 9, 2017.

Croatian national football team remains in 16th place in the latest FIFA rankings which were published on Thursday. In comparison to the previous month, no major changes have occurred, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on March 9, 2017.

Among the top 20 teams, there are only two changes. Poland has advanced two places and is now ranked the 12th best team in the world (their best ranking in history), and Egypt has moved up three places to 20th. 

In first place is still in Argentina, while Brazil and Germany follow behind in second and third. Chile is in fourth place, while Belgium is in fifth. 

In their next international match, Croatia will play Ukraine for the World Cup 2018 qualifier. The game will take place on March 24, 2017, in Zagreb. Ukraine is currently ranked 31st, which is one ranking below last month. 

The best-ranked team in Group I for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers is Croatia, followed by Iceland who fell three places to 23rd. Turkey dropped two places and is now ranked 26th, and Finland has fallen from 97th to 99th. The only team in Group I that has climbed up in the rankings is Kosovo, who moved from 165th to 164th.
