Bilić Loses Three Standard Starting Players

By 20 March 2017

Besides losing important points against Leicester on Saturday (2-3), West Ham coach Slaven Bilić also cannot count on three standard starting players due to injuries, British media have reported on Monday

Certainly the toughest loss is the injury of Michail Antonio, who played all 90 minutes against the Foxes, but it was later learned he has a knee injury which will keep him out for a month.

Antonio plays several positions in West Ham, right fullback, wing and forward. This earned him an invitation to the English national team and it was expected he would debut in the national team as England is playing a friendly against Germany in Dortmund on Wednesday, and on Sunday on Wembley a qualification match for the 2018 World Championship against Lithuania.

Two more West Ham players were injured against Leicester: stopper Winston Reid left the pitch in the 18t minute with an adductor injury and will be out of action between four and six weeks. Pedro Obiang lef the match in the 67th minute due to an ankle injury and will be out for the rest of the season.

West Ham is in 12th position and is nine points away from Hull City, the dropout zone, whom they play in the next round on April 1.
